Asad Niazi, B.Sc. Eng. MBA

PRESIDENT

Asad Niazi has been in the construction and land development business for over 19 years. He has extensive experience in market based planning, engineering, construction, joint venture partnerships, financial analysis, business, and navigating regulatory authorities. Asad has a thorough understanding of the constraints and opportunities in the Calgary Region and is able to effectively and efficiently wade through political planning and development challenges by leveraging his expertise in these areas to garner innovative and profitable solutions.

Asad holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business, and holds several boards seats, including a seat on the Planning Committee of the Urban Development Institute.

Asad has developed 5,000 acres in the Calgary Region which include Master Planned Communities, inner city Mixed Use and Industrial Lands.

Motivated by his passion towards Real Estate, Asad, prior to merging with Schickedanz West in forming Canopy Lands, started his own land development and advisory firm, Tulum Development and Management Corp. which successfully managed an collection of various real estate based assets.

After completing his undergraduate and thesis in Urban Planning from Dalhousie University, William went on to work in both public and private urban planning consulting groups. For the past 6 years he has been involved in project management of construction and land development projects in both Alberta and British Columbia.
